2010 Blues Music Awards
NCRM Freedom Award 2014


Highlights from The National Civil Rights Museum's Freedom Award ceremony held in Memphis, Tennessee on December 2, 2014. This year’s honorees are Charlayne Hunter-Gault, highly acclaimed global civil rights journalist; Tom Brokaw, long-time NBC News anchor; Robert Moses, award-winning educator and civil rights movement organizer; and Frank Robinson, trailblazing professional baseball player and manager. A special award is also presented to Beverly Robertson, who is stepping down as President of the National Civil Rights Museum after 17 years. The Master of Ceremony is Michael Eric Dyson.


Alabama: Hymns and Gospel Favorites


One of the most acclaimed country bands of all time, Alabama celebrate their love for gospel music in this collection of songs of faith including “Church in the Wildwood,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and the new “Angels Among Us.” Although they typically perform in large arenas, Randy, Teddy and Jeff gather friends and family for an intimate concert at home for Hymns & Gospel Favorites.


2015 Blues Music Awards


The Blues Music Awards presentations and musical performances from the 36th annual Blues Awards held in Memphis, TN in May of 2015. This program features many nominee performances as well as appearances by Blues Hall of Fame members, including Keb Mo’, Elvis Bishop and Charlie Musselwhite.

New Madrid:
The Earthquakes of 1811 – 1812


Beginning in 1811 and lasting through part of 1812, one of North America's strongest earthquake sequences struck the western frontier of the United States. However, this wasn't California, but the Mississippi River Valley – what is now the country's heartland. Some of these quakes were felt a thousand miles away and created Reelfoot, Tennessee's largest natural lake.
