WKNO WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS AND ANNOUNCES OFFICERS
WKNO Public Broadcasting is pleased to announce new Board members and officers, as well as acknowledge the service of outgoing Board members.
The officers for the 2011-2012 Board are: Dr. Craig Esrael, Chairman; Calvin Anderson, Vice-Chairman; Rick Schultz, Secretary; and Michael LaBonia, Treasurer.
WKNO acknowledged outgoing board member Lenore Binswanger, who was honored for her more than 22 years of service to WKNO (photo attached). Lenore has been one of the longest serving board members as well as one of the top board community fundraisers for WKNO.
WKNO is pleased to announce that the following have joined the Board.
Joseph Ferrante is Vice President of Global Trauma and Extremities Development at Smith & Nephew. He has worked in the biomedical field for over 24 years including positions at Wright Medical and Johnson and Johnson.
Joseph is a holder of 23 U.S. patents for biomedical methods and devices including knees, hips, and trauma. He currently sits on the Biomedical Advisory Board at The University of Memphis and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce.
Joseph lives in Bartlett with his wife Gina and three children.
“I have watched and enjoyed public television and radio as I have grown up,” said Joseph. “The programs are extremely informative and educational. I also have a great passion for the arts and symphony. It is an honor to be a part of an organization that continues these educational and cultural programs for the community.”
Peter Schutt is the owner and CEO of The Memphis Daily News, a business newspaper published in the greater Memphis area Mondays through Fridays since 1886 (an additional weekly paper – The Memphis News – is published each Saturday. He is currently the Chairman of St. George's Independent Schools Board of Trustees, an Executive Board Member with the Chickasaw Council, Boy Scouts of America; and founder of Great Outdoors University. He is also on the boards of the Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, the Tennessee Wildlife Federation and Shelby County Books from Birth.
He lives in Eads with his wife Leslie Drake. They have three sons.

Thus, the radio and television program is able to remain unbiased and to provide diverse news, educational programming and entertainment to match the diverse makeup of our community.”
Re-elected to the WKNO Board this year are Calvin Anderson and Chris Brubaker.
