WKNO TO BROADCAST A TENT REVIVAL HOMECOMING

WKNO will premiere A Classic Gospel Special-Tent Revival Homecoming on Thursday, August 18 at 7:00 pm. on Channel 10. The music program, hosted by gospel music great Bill Gaither, captures the spirit and music of the old fashioned tent revivals of the 1950’s and 1960’s.


The non-stop line-up of great gospel music features artists including: George Beverly Shea, Cliff Barrows, The Gaither Vocal Band, Larry Gatlin, The Oak Ridge Boys, Guy Penrod, Dailey and Vincent, The Isaacs, and many others.

This quintessential Tent Revival Homecoming was filmed on the magnificent grounds of the Billy Graham Library and spotlights more than 140 of gospel music’s most beloved artists celebrating a time-honored tradition that has impacted countless lives.

Classic Gospel is a weekly series of one-hour specials that airs on many public television stations across the country and features the harmony and sprit of gospel music as performed by the pioneering and the contemporary greats of this distinctly American musical genre.

Gaither Television Productions began partnering with public television stations seven years ago to air- He Touched Me: the Gospel Music of Elvis Presley, ELVIS LIVES: The 25th Anniversary Concert and The Gospel Music of Johnny Cash, and was a great success for participating stations.

A Classic Gospel Special-Tent Revival Homecoming will be presented nationally on public television stations by WKNO through NETA (National Educational Telecommunications Association) for a December, 2011 national premiere.
