WKNO SALUTES ACTION AUCTION VOLUNTEER REBECCA BLUE

April is National Volunteer Month, and WKNO is celebrating by saluting its Action Auction volunteers. Rebecca Blue of Bartlett is one of WKNO’s most valued volunteers.

Rebecca Blue is a relatively new volunteer to WKNO. As transportation specialist at International Paper, she saw in a newsletter the request for IP volunteers for the Action Auction. She greatly enjoys volunteering during the auction and is looking forward to her second year. She especially loves the excitement of the auction and seeing all of the variety of items on which viewers can bid.

WKNO’s annual Action Auction airs live April 18, 19, 25 and 26. Select items are currently available for online bidding with final bids being taken online and on-air simultaneously. Information on all of the items is available at www.wkno.org. The Action Auction raises money to support WKNO’s many valuable programs and events.

Rebecca also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and enjoys interior decorating and shopping. She enjoys watching the auctions on WKNO, as well as the British comedies and the doo wop specials.

Rebecca Blue and many of WKNO’s valued volunteers can be seen live on the Action Auction on Saturday-Sunday, April 18, 19, 25 and 26 from 2:00 to 11:00 p.m. on  WKNO/Channel 10.

WKNO is a non-profit, private foundation serving the Mid-South for over 50 years. An important community resource, WKNO uses the power of non-commercial public broadcasting to provide the Mid-South with quality educational and cultural programs that inform, entertain, and inspire.
