WILLIAM BEARDEN — SEGMENT PRODUCER

Bearden is the creator of The William Bearden Company, a video and event based production company with clientele such as FedEx, WKNO/Channel 10, The Memphis Wonders Series, Hammermill Papers/International Paper and Entertainment Tonight. In 1994, the company produced the award-winning Cigars — From Seeds to Smoke, a documentary about the history and popularity of cigars. Since 1999, Bearden has written and produced several documentaries for WKNO. His program about the development of Memphis's first park, Overton Park, A Century of Change, won an Aegis Award. In addition, he produced Elmwood, Reflections of Memphis, Playing for a Piece of the Door: A History of Memphis Garage Bands, What's Left, and Masters of Florence


KIP COLE —SEGMENT PRODUCER

Kip began his broadcasting career in 1985 at WAAY, the ABC affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama. In his 14 years there he worked a variety of production jobs, including 10 years as Senior Newscast Director. He also served as a producer/director/actor on a late night comedy show, WAAY Too Late. While in Huntsville, Kip won numerous awards including local Addys, two National Tellys, and a Mid-South Emmy Award for technical directing. In 1999 Kip joined WTCI, the PBS station in Chattanooga, TN, where he received a Mid-South Emmy Award for producing the documentary 12 Days in Dayton: The Scopes Monkey Trial. Since 2003 Kip has been the special projects producer for WKNO. He has produced and/or directed the It Matters series, senior issues programs, music specials and documentaries. In addition, he often produces segments for Southern Routes.

SUSAN HOWE — SEGMENT PRODUCER

Susan Howe, producer/director at WKNO, has produced a long list of documentaries at the station, including: 50,000 Watts of Goodwill: The WDIA Story; A Community of Care (a profile of the Church Health Center); Hand in Hand, about the works of MIFA; as well as 3 episodes of the popular Memphis Memoirs series (Sacred Spaces, Remember When and The Cotton Carnival Years). Her work has been recognized with 3 regional Emmy's, a national Owl Award, a Parents' Choice Award and an Ohio State Award.

SHAWN KELLY — SEGMENT PRODUCER

From 1998 to 2001, Shawn Kelly produced Hello Mr. Chuck!, an educational pre-school children's series airing on local and regional public television. He was responsible for writing, producing, editing, and creating primary and background music. In 1999, Hello Mr. Chuck! received a Parent's Choice Silver Honor Award by Parent's Choice, a national organization that has been reviewing and rating children's media since 1978. In 2000, the series won a regional Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. From 2001 to 2003, Shawn was an Associate Producer for Barney & Friends. He produced field segments for 40 episodes, as well as closing segments and filler material for each episode. He also reviewed and edited scripts for each episode and produced the home video Barney Songs from the Park. In addition, he contributed two new songs to the Barney song list.

BONNIE KOURVELAS — HOST AND SEGMENT PRODUCER

Host and segment producer of Southern Routes, Kourvelas has done various documentaries for WKNO. Also, she has been a freelance video producer doing corporate and industrial videos for training, marketing, and sales. In addition to producing those videos, Kourvelas has appeared in several of them. Bonnie is best-known to WKNO audiences for her popular and award-winning documentaries for the Memphis Memoirs series: Beyond the Parkways, At the Movies, Lost Memphis and When TV Came to Town. She is a professional actor, represented by Colors Talent Agent, and has appeared in several independent films as well as on stage at Theatre Memphis, Playwrights Forum and Circuit Playhouse. She also serves on Germantown Community Theatre's Board of Directors.

AMY PORTER — COORDINATING PRODUCER

Amy has been working for WKNO since 1978, having begun her career as an intern while attending the University of Memphis (then Memphis State University). In 1984, she became a producer-director for the Action Auction. Since then, she has been responsible for producing nearly all of the Auctions. She also produced and directed WKNO's tape-delayed broadcast of the Tiger games. In addition, Amy traveled to Russia with for the Catherine the Great Wonders Exhibit and produced spots and a show about Catherine the Great for WKNO. She also produced the interstitial spots for #10 Friends Circle, the original children's series Sundays with Mr. Chuck, It's Greek to Me, P Is for Pasta, and many more.

STEVE SPAKES — SEGMENT PRODUCER

Steve Spakes says he's "been in the video business a little longer than Bonnie Kourvelas but not quite as long as William Bearden." He has traveled to numerous cities in China, Egypt, as well as other countries documenting work performed by the World Cataract Foundation. Steve has also worked on several ESPN shows including Inside Drag Racing and NHRA Pro Mod Series. But the most fun that he's had, he says, is Bonnie "giving me the opportunity to help her on Beyond the Parkways and At the Movies." And with excellent training from Mark Higginbotham, Steve has run four marathons and one trail ultra-marathon (31 miles) in the Ozarks.

EARLE FARRELL — SEGMENT PRODUCER

Earle is is President of Farrell Productions Inc. a television production company currently producing the 5th season of My Favorite Restaurant, a thirty-minute show that features Memphis area restaurants. The show details their personal history as well as the restaurant's development. Following college Mr. Farrell worked for a number of broadcast television stations and then became a limited partner in S.O.L. Inc. a company that developed two successful restaurant concepts, Sunset Café, a floating restaurant on the Mississippi River followed by Sleep Out Louie's, The Oyster Bar, a New York Style Bar and Restaurant.

JIM O'DONNELL — SEGMENT PRODUCER

O'Donnell is an independent Memphis filmmaker. He produced and directed the award-winning documentary Ray4theNBA, which aired nationally on College Sports Television, as well as, screened at film festivals throughout the country. Other projects include The Party Ain't Stopped Yet, about the closing and re-opening of The Center For Southern Folklore, 75 Years of Pink, the history of The Pink Palace Museum, and the fiction film Presumed Dead. O'Donnell has also been nominated for a Regional Emmy for his work as a photojournalist. He is a graduate of The University of Memphis, Department of Communication's Graduate Program. PIERRE KIMSEY — SEGMENT PRODUCER

Pierre Kimsey began his career in Broadcasting in 1972. One of his first experiences as a radio reporter was being tear-gassed at the '72 Republican convention. During that period he also covered the Presidential campaign and did a brief stint covering George McGovern's bid for The White House. Aside from his work in radio, he also spent time living and working in Paris where he dubbed Foreign films into English. In 1979 he made the move to television where he covered News and Features for over 2 decades. His career took him to West Palm Beach, Charlotte and Detroit. He's interviewed such personalities as Bob Hope, Steven Spielberg, Richard Pryor, Mel Gibson and Kevin Costner. He has also worked on various Documentary projects over the years including Oscar 97; Beyond the Screen, Riders on The Storm and Os Confederados, the story of Civil War veterans who settled in Brazil. His work has been seen on CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC and his stories were a regular feature on CMT's Country Crossroads. He has also received many awards including Addys, Tellys, and 2 Communicator Awards as well as 4 Emmy awards.

JEFF BRYANT — SEGMENT PRODUCER

Bryant is an independent filmmaker and comes to filmmaking via various means. First discovered as a hand model for Federal Express’ mail order catalog, he quickly moved behind the camera as the producer and director for many commercials and special projects. In 1998, he produced his first feature film, Strange Cargo, which was selected in several film festivals, including The Hollywood Underground Film Festival and Indie Memphis.

Currently, Bryant is in post-production of his second feature film, The Importance of Being Russell, a comedy about three rednecks who save the world. It is expected to be released in the fall of 2006, so watch for updates at www.russellmovie.com. His next feature project will be a documentary on a historical Memphis event from the early 20th century. He is a graduate of The University of Memphis, Department of Communications.

SELKEND Media was founded by Larry R. Dunn. It is a creative content company dedicated to producing quality entertainment and informational programming for television and motion pictures, as well as emerging media outlets.

JOE INCARDONA — SEGMENT PRODUCER

Joe Incardona is president of Media Source, a Memphis video production company he founded in 1994. Joe is a former television reporter, with more than 20 years of experience in broadcast television, including stints as an on-air reporter in Louisville, Oklahoma City, and, most recently, at WREG-TV Channel 3 here in Memphis. He holds a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University in Chicago, and a bachelor's degree in the liberal arts from the University of Notre Dame. Joe's family has lived in Memphis since 1973.
