From the producers of He Touched Me: The Gospel Music of Elvis Presley, this series combines classic gospel music performances from over two decades of live Gaither Homecoming Gospel Concerts. This series features the harmony and spirit of Southern gospel music as sung by the pioneering and contemporary greats of this distinctly American musical genre.

Classic Gospel is produced by Gaither Television Productions – the same people who brought public television viewers He Touched Me: The Gospel Music of Elvis Presley, ELVIS LIVES: The 25th Anniversary Concert, and The Gospel Music of Johnny Cash. This popular series features the pioneering and contemporary greats of this distinctly American music genre. It is being distributed nationally to public television stations by WKNO/Memphis through NETA (National Educational Telecommunications Association).

“Public television is doing a wonderful thing,” said Bill Gaither. “These viewer-supported stations have been airing meaningful television programming for decades now. What an honor it is that Gaither Homecoming programs are now part of the weekly line-up on so many public television stations.”
