Talking is Teaching: A Virtual Parent and Child Workshop

WKNO PBS Kids are committed to Early Literacy. Reading books to children from ages 0 to 5 provides special unique moments for parent and child to talk, read, and sing together, and learn something new.
Join Teacher Teacher, Jaime Griffin from Memphis Public Libraries, Dr. Shelly Counsell, from the University of Memphis, and Dr. Mary Palmer from Southwest Tennessee Community College & Early Learning Center as well as other guest educators on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., during the Talking is Teaching parent and child virtual workshop. This workshop, designed for parents with early learners, will assist parents in building strong language skills for the speech and reading development of their child.
Every participant will receive the Talking is Teaching Storybook Kit, free books, Craft supplies & other resources for child language development. Resources bags will be picked up from select Memphis Libraries in advance of the workshop.
Space is limited, sign up today. The zoom link and resource bag pick-up locations will be sent upon completion of registration.
