WKNO Public Media invites applications for the part-time position of TV Master Control Operator.
SALARY: Open, commensurate with experience, skills, and education
SUPERVISION:TV Master Control Supervisor and/or Director of Technology
POSITION AVAILABLE: April 1, 2026
EXPECTED WORK HOURS:16 hours a week, with the opportunity to fill in for other shifts. Most of the time the 16 hours will comprise of two 8-hour shifts on the weekend.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Operate television facility, including but not limited to On-Air Switching, Transmitter Operation and logging, Network Recording, Program Dubbing and Editing, Quality Control, and server-based record/playback system during studio productions.
- Position works closely with traffic management and software.
- Works as scheduled by the Master Control Supervisor to facilitate seamless operation of 24/7/365 broadcast digital TV and FM operation from WKNO’s Master Control facility.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Director of Technology and Master Control Supervisor.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
- High School or Vo -Tech diploma required.
- One year experience as a Master Control Operator at an automated file-based media facility is desired.
- SBE or other relevant professional certification desired.
- Ability to read and write, add, and subtract correctly.
- Requires individual who is highly organized, detail oriented and able to work under pressure with little or no supervision.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
